Dr. Kwonsik Song, Post-Doctoral Research Fellow
Dr. Song received his PhD in Summer 2017 in Construction Engineering and Management from Seoul National University, South Korea. He earned his MA degree in Construction Engineering and Management from Seoul National University and BA in Architectural Engineering from Sejong University. His research focuses on understanding energy use patterns of end-user groups in buildings and optimizing building energy use performance. Apart from his regular working hours, he enjoys sports activities and listening to music.
Dr. Dongmin Lee, Post-Doctoral Research Fellow
Dr. Lee received his PhD in Construction Management and Materials from Korea University, South Korea. His research focuses on the digital twin and blockchain for robotic construction and logistics. In his spare time, he enjoys sports activities and watching movies.
Dr. Jinwoo Kim, Post-Doctoral Research Fellow
Dr. Kim received his PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Seoul National University, South Korea. He has a strong interest in understanding the dynamic phenomena that occur in complex construction and urban systems. Specifically, he focuses on developing computer vision-based methods that automatically extract operational information of construction objects from site videos for productivity and safety analysis. Daeho Kim, PhD Student
Daeho Kim is a PhD student in the Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Michigan. He earned a MS degree in Construction Engineering and Management from the University of Michigan. His research focuses mainly on how to transform hazardous construction sites into a healthy, safe and sustainable place for construction workers.
Gaang Lee, PhD Student
Gaang Lee joined our program in the Fall of 2017 and is a PhD pre-candidate focusing on the smart connected city for the disadvantaged. He majored in architectural engineering on his undergraduate and master courses. He came to the University of Michigan with over four years of work experience in construction and BIM. He hopes that his research will improve the sustainability and happiness of societies across the globe.
Hoyoung Lee is a Ph.D. student of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Michigan. He earned his bachelors’ degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Seoul National University and his Master’s degree at the University of California, Berkeley. He pursues to research on social influence theories and weaerable technologies to improve construction safety. In his spare time, he enjoys working out and watching sports games.
Juhyeon Bae is a Ph.D. student in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Michigan. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Hanyang University. His research mainly focuses on vision- and wearable-based approaches for safe and sustainable society.
Francis Baek is a PhD student in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Michigan. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Arizona, and a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Intelligent Systems, Robotics, and Control) from the University of California, San Diego. His research focuses on using vision- and wearable-based technologies to contribute to safe and efficient construction.
Leyang is a MSc student of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Michigan. He has received a bachelor degree from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Construction Engineering & Management and continues to pursue his MSc degree in the same discipline. His research focuses on the implementations of the vision-based tracking techniques in construction.
Luke Knowles, Undergraduate Student
Luke Knowles is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Construction Management. He is from Chapel Hill, NC and enjoys backpacking on the Appalachian Trail and traveling. He is an undergraduate research assistant under Dr. SangHyun Lee and plans to pursue a career in construction management when he graduates in April 2020.
Julianne Shah, Undergraduate Student
Julie is an undergrad studying computer science at the University of Michigan. She is a research assistant under Dr. SangHyun Lee and her research interests include BIM, autonomous vehicles, and construction automation. She plays trombone for the Michigan Marching Band and enjoys costume design, and watching football.
